Cutting Edge is a veteran and family-owned company serving Des Moines and Central Iowa since 1995. We bring your remodel together, plan the work and manage the schedule, keeping you informed from start to finish.
Our own carpenters install cabinetry and finish trim. You can hire us for that work on its own or include it in a kitchen, bathroom or whole-home remodel, with the details planned around your project.
If you’re planning a new home, we’ll talk through your plans and the work you need. We take on cabinetry and interior finish work, and discuss the scope with you before agreeing on a larger build.

We begin with a phone conversation about your vision for your home, how you’d like to use the space and your timing. Send photos before our visit to help us understand your ideas for the remodel.

Visit Your Home
We visit your home, take measurements and talk through your remodeling ideas together. Bring inspiration photos and share how you want to use each room, so we can plan the space around your family’s everyday needs.

Choose Your Materials
We discuss your material and finish selections, how involved you’d like to be and the specific choices that suit your daily routine. Together, we agree on which items you’ll supply and what our team will handle.

Review Your Design
You review a 3D rendering based on your ideas and home measurements, so you can picture your space before work begins. For kitchen remodels, a preferences worksheet helps our designer learn what you like and dislike.

Review Your Estimate
We walk through your line-item estimate by phone or in person, clearly explaining the work, materials and costs. You can ask us any questions before accepting the estimate and making your down payment to move ahead.

Plan Your Schedule
We share your timeline and printed calendar, then update it as plans change. You know what’s planned each day and how materials affect timing. For a kitchen remodel, demolition waits until your new cabinets have arrived.

Prepare Your Home
We talk through how the work will affect your family’s daily routine, including noise, dust and access to your rooms. Our crew protects floors and uses dust control, so you know what to expect before construction.

Stay Updated as We Build
Our team manages the work and cleans up each day, finishing at a reasonable hour for your family. We keep you informed throughout the build with a Monday preview, a mid-week check-in and a Friday recap.

Review the Finished Work
We review your remodeled space together, checking all the details and answering your questions about the finished work. If anything remains to be done, we explain what’s left and what you can expect from our team.

Enjoy Your New Space
You receive your final estimate and invoice, make the final payment and get a gift to welcome you into your new space. With construction complete, you can settle in and enjoy the home you’ve planned together.
