Understand the Costs Before You CommitUnderstand the Costs Before You Commit

Your estimate depends on the rooms involved, the work needed and the materials you choose. We visit your home, take measurements and discuss your plans before preparing a detailed price. You can then see what’s included and ask questions before moving ahead.

Yes. Start with a phone conversation about your vision for the space. We’ll arrange an in-home consultation and prepare an estimate for the work we discuss. Request your free estimate or call 515-723-5850.

You receive a line-item estimate that breaks down the proposed work, materials and costs. We review it with you by phone or in person, so you understand what’s included before you accept it. Material selections and any items you plan to supply are part of that conversation.

We can talk through the choices and compare versions of the estimate with lower-cost and higher-cost finishes, without asking you to decide everything at once. As you make selections, we clarify how they affect the proposed work, cost and schedule.

We don’t promise a resale return. Our estimate explains what the construction work will cost, so you can weigh the project against your goals for the home. Tell us whether you’re remodeling to stay or preparing to sell, and we’ll discuss the work you have in mind.

We explain the change and discuss it with you before writing a change order. If a problem adds significant work, we develop options and explain the costs so you can decide how to proceed. Small issues may be absorbed, but we discuss accumulating costs with you rather than leaving them unexplained.

The schedule depends on the scope, material lead times and what we find as the work progresses. After you approve the estimate, we explain the order of work and the expected timing for your project. You receive a printed calendar, with updates when the schedule changes.

We work through your design, material choices and estimate first, then review the schedule and what to expect in your home. For kitchen remodels, we wait for the new cabinets to arrive before demolition. See the full sequence on Our Process.

We discuss that with you before construction, based on the rooms involved, access to the space and your household’s needs. We explain how the work may affect your daily routine so you can plan around noise, dust and the areas being remodeled.

Our crew protects floors, uses dust control and cleans the work area each day. Demolition still brings noise and dust, so we talk through what to expect beforehand. We aim to leave at a reasonable hour so your family has its evening.

The crew typically arrives between 8 and 9 in the morning. We discuss the daily routine with you before work begins and keep you informed as the schedule develops. If you have a concern about access or your household’s routine, bring it up during planning.

We work through the possible solutions with our team, then explain the issue, the options and what each would mean for your remodel. You can ask questions and choose how to proceed. If the work changes, we discuss the costs and update the schedule with you.
